Speakers

Rodney Saunders

Rodney Saunders grew up on a diversified family farm in northeast Missouri raising row crops and livestock before earning a degree in Agronomy and Animal Science from Missouri Western State University. He spent 34 years with the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, where he specialized in grazing management, soil health, nutrient management, and regenerative farming practices while working closely with producers across Northwest Missouri. Rodney played a major role in educating farmers on cover crops, livestock integration, and soil health systems that led to the adoption of regenerative practices on tens of thousands of acres. Today, as a consultant with Understanding Ag, he continues helping farmers improve profitability, soil function, and long-term sustainability through practical regenerative agriculture strategies.

Tim Clapp has managed his grazing operation using adaptive rotational grazing since 1999. His farm utilizes polywire and step-in posts to implement Adaptive Multi-Paddock (AMP) grazing, maximizing rest and recovery periods for healthier pastures and more productive livestock. Through years of practical experience, Tim has developed a resilient grazing system focused on improving soil health, extending the grazing season, and increasing the profitability of his livestock operation.
